Mars rover Curiosity on Sol 620 + 654 - Mast Right (2014) 🧐 ArtAlienTV " A giant sphinx statue on Mars in the now dried up lake bed area of Gale Crater. I estimate it to be at least 200 ft long, possibly 300. The image was taken by the Curiosity Rover back at Sol 654, years ago. I have been studying this area in detail for years now and was looking for a closer photo of this spot as I suspected there might be something interesting to be seen. When I looked at this particular NASA image I was astounded at the large head detail on this giant structure. The door like archway to the right of the possible sphinx head also caught my eye as I looked further. I darkened the image to see if that would help and the detail just jumped off the screen at me. I was quite astounded. This is not an optical illusion. The image is quite clear and the sphinx like structure can be seen in multiple images and angles taken over the last few years as the Curiosity slowly motored around this fascinating landscape near Mount Sharp. I fully expect NASA to put this down to pareidolia but when you put this into context with the Hundreds of other Mars statues that I have published on YouTube then you may well think again.
