Is this a Martian sculptors tool on Mars in Gale Crater? It looks very similar to some I have. It is only about 3 inches or less long where as mine are about 8 inches long. Does this mean that the Martian artist that used this was only about 2 feet tall? This a very specific object and there seems to be another similar one nearby, although broken. There are clay deposits in this area so the artist may have gathered sculpting clay from this very spot of Mars in this now dried up lake bed near Mount Sharp. Does this make the sculpted and carved statue heads I have found near here on Mars more likely to be real? Yes I think so.
