Introduced in 2013, the iPhone 5s was the first smartphone to feature a 64-bit processor and Apple's Touch ID fingerprint authentication system. Its compact internal layout is organized around a narrow multilayer logic board positioned alongside the lithium-ion battery, maximizing the available space within the aluminum enclosure. This teardown reveals the Lightning connector assembly, rear camera, front-facing camera and sensor module, Touch ID home button, and numerous flex cable assemblies that connect the phone's major subsystems.
