The Precambrian Kharus/Buah Formation is dipping to the north- northwest below the unconformity. Above the angular unconformity lies the more gently dipping Permian Saiq/Khuff Formation. The unconformity represents a period of time (or "missing" geologic section)of approximately 300-400 my.
