This is mylonite formed from the Dover Granite, at the boundary between peri-Gondwanan Avalonia and Iapetan rocks in east central Newfoundland. This shear zone marks the western boundary of Gondwanan-affinity rocks, with Iapetan rocks to the west. Outcrop on Maccles Lake Road, near Glovertown. Sample surface has been ground and polished.
