Buzzard Rocks is the name for a prominent set of white cliffs at the northern end of the Massanutten Mountain System, in the George Washington National Forest. The cliffs are Silurian-aged Massanutten Sandstone, a quartz arenite. The beds dip very steeply toward the axis of the Massanutten Synclinorium at Buzzard Rocks, making the cliffs "slab like" in appearance. Can you find the rock climber?
