An outcrop of Devonian Mahantango Formation shale along the Fort Valley Road, adjacent to a meander in Passage Creek. Hematite-stained trace fossils and large (~10 cm) carbonate nodules can be seen in this outcrop, as well as nice examples of plumose structure. The outcrop surface is mainly defined by the cleavage plane; bedding is not apparent at this site.
