The Lace Curtain is a cliff face on the north side of Pahvant Butte. Intense wave energy from the northerly winds formed this cliff while only forming terraces on the south side of the mountain. Groundwater cemented the volcanic tuff after Pahvant Butte erupted. Muddy sediment washed down the cliff face, creating a waxy dripping look. The drippy areas are more resistant to weathering so it gives the cliff a lacey look.
