This sample of the late-Ordovician Martinsburg Formation was collected in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, at the intersection of Millner Road and Bethel Road in Shenandoah County. It's very close to this GigaPan site: Martinsburg Formation, Millner Road and Bethel Road, Shenandoah County, Virginia: https://viewer.gigamacro.com/view/3quQmVPEDPIJBhoS The outcrop shows a nice example of graded bedding, interpreted to be the result of deposition by submarine turbidity currents.
