On Old Route 55 in the valley of the Lost River, there lies an abandoned limestone quarry that is used by the highway department as a dumping ground for crushed stone and dirt. The walls of the quarry show deformed limestones, probably of the Tonoloway Formation. There is also a big cave here, that has been partially sealed off to human access. Watch for appearances by Mr. E. coli and the cm-scale pencil.
