Falls Dam that separates Falls Reservoir and Lake Tillery. Image taken from Mount Morrow State Park, NC. The dam was located at this site due to the structural integrity of the rock. The Rhyodacite at this locale has many feldspar inclusions within the sample. These inclusions made it so the rock was not suitable for the production of tools and arrow heads by the local Native Americans. Other outcrops in the park do not have these inclusions and were mined heavily by local Native Americans. Automatic exposure was accidentally turned on and therefore the image may be patchy.
