Created using 16 Images in PGTui and Adjusted in Photoshop This Mastcam-Z mosaic, captured on Sol 1803, marks a significant milestone in the rover's fifth year of Martian exploration. Utilizing the high-powered Right-eye telephoto lens, this panorama offers a high-resolution look at the 'crustal' rocks of the northern rim—material that was excavated from deep within the Martian crust billions of years ago during the impact that formed the crater. By stitching these detailed frames together, the mosaic allows scientists to trace the complex mineral veins and weathered textures of some of the oldest exposed geology on the planet. This workspace serves as the primary survey for the rover's next potential drill site as it continues its climb toward the transition zone between the crater floor and the surrounding highlands.
