In this near vertical view, dark crater-floor deposits contrast sharply with the high-albedo rock of the central peak. West is toward the top of the photograph. The clearly visible outcrop along the left-facing sheer wall, near the point of the peak, is the bedding the Command Module Pilot described while in orbit.
