This is the Whip Cove East anticline, a folded package of sandstone, siltstone and shale in the Upper Devonian Foreknobs Formation. Conglomeratic sandstone found near the base of the cut indicates the rock unit. Note the minor fault on the right (east) side of the fold, and the disrupted bedding at the top of the exposure in the GigaPan image.
