Maidens Gneiss from the Goochland Terrane. Biotite-muscovite-garnet gneiss from the Goochland Terrane in Virginia's Piedmont Province. Estimates of its age vary, but current thinking holds that its protolith is Meso- to Neoproterozoic-aged, and metamorphosed in the Devonian.
